Nahashu Dojo Reigi
Rules of the Dojo [School]
Karate
begins and ends with respect.
With that in mind, the following rules
will be adhered to in the Dojo at all times.
-
Bow
when entering and leaving the Dojo.
-
Always
bow before speaking with Sensei and when finished.
-
You
will always address Mr. Nielsen as Sensei. No exceptions.
-
Never
interrupt Sensei when he is talking to someone else or practicing.
-
Always
bow to each other before working together and after.
-
Junior
belts should always bow to their senior belts.
-
A
belt senior to you is addressed as Sempai.
-
Be
courteous and kind to everyone in the Dojo. We are a family.
-
Always
answer with "Hai Sensei" or "No Sensei".
-
There
will be No playing around in the Dojo!
-
There
is no talking while Sensei is instructing.
-
Inappropriate
behavior will not be tolerated.
-
Be
helpful to each other and new students.
-
The
use of foul language is prohibited.
-
Cleanliness
of body with short finger and toe nails is required with a clean uniform.
These
rules are set in place in our Dojo to build strong morals, self esteem, and
respect for each other. They form the basis of traditional karate. By following
these rules you will learn that karate trains the whole person mind, body, and
spirit.
Learning
a little at a time will form a strong foundation for superior growth in the
martial arts. Remember that your journey is about you and not any one else. At
times you may feel uncoordinated or that you just can't get something right.
This is very common and happens to all of us. Always approach karate as a way to
better yourself. You will find that with continuous training and time you will
accomplish much. Your body is not use to doing these strange movements. You must
give yourself time and practice patience and it will come.
