Fellow Karate-ka:

Walking the Path of a Sensei is a book written by Eric P. Klein. I ask that if you haven't already read this book please do so soon. It can be purchased on Amazon.com. As a matter of fact, I'm requiring that each of you green belt and above read this book.

I do not take to making such requests of my students furiously. I find this book that important for you to read. There is a wealth of information for you to obtain in this book and it is an easy read. The $20.00 price tag is worth it.

Are you walking the path? Do you know the path that you are on in your karate training? Can you afford not to see or know the whole picture of what it is that you are doing? Ask yourself why you are taking karate and see if you have a different answer then when you first signed up. If you don't then you need to think about what you have been taught. You should see a steady growth in yourself. A connection of mind, body, and spirit and what they truly mean. If you do not see a growth in yourself then you might not be listening in class. You might be stuck in the mud. Wake up! If you're missing the boat then you need to rethink your reasons for taking karate. If you're not sure then by all means ask.

Know yourself, know the path you are on.

This is the way.

Sensei Dave
