Amy Nielsen, Sensei
Years of
Training to date: 7
Sensei Amy Nielsen began her training at age
14 under Soke Nielsen, then of the IOGKF. After the part from the
IOGKF, Amy Sensei then followed through the study of Shito Ryu, Shorei
Ryu, and limited exposure to Japanese Kobudo. At this time,
Nahashu Ryu was in its earliest stages of development, and the training
offered Amy Sensei is duly quite wide and eclectic. She also has
experience in Japanese Aikido.
Amy Sensei has since
earned her Sandan, third degree black belt, in Nahashu Ryu. She
has also earned her Instructors Certification, and is currently an
assistant instructor at Nahashu Hombu. Along with her continued
development of Nahashu Ryu Karate-do, Amy Sensei intends to increase her
knowledge of the Kobudo weapons, focusing on the Bo. Amy Sensei is
also the official head of the USA-TKA.
